Dell MS Apparently you can't use the Tactx mouse software with Logitech setpoint software. Almost a deal breaker for me. I just uninstalled Setpoint and now the CI installed fine.
I have a Logitech Performance MX as my main mouse though, and a Logitech keyboard so this is pretty sad discovery haha. One forum I found on google said, uninstall Setpoint, install the Tactx mouse software, setup all your profiles than uninstall the Tactx mouse CI and reinstall Setpoint and it remembers all your profiles.
A bit of a hassle but if it works I may hang on to this mouse. Don't wanna have to ship it back to Dell. Master Schollz , Jun 5, Its a great mouse, I got one long ago and love it. But then again, I have never used any other mice other than your standard issue mouse that comes with my work computers.
Again, there is already a thread that discusses the TactX mouse - you might find some answers over there to your questions. MoselleVsDoom , Oct 1, Well its actually pretty simple. First things first. Turn over the mouse, using a small phillips screwdriver you will need to poke holes into the teflon pads.
You can see there are 2 on the top, 2 on the bottom, and one on the triangle pad. Once you have those removed the mouse will pull apart. You do not need to remove the pads, just poke some holes in them From here you need to remove the scroll wheel.
Be carefull and remember where each part goes on the stroll wheel. The mouse cable has a plug on the end that just goes into the board. Unplug it. Now cut the plug off, but make sure you have ample wire sticking out so you can splice in the shorter wires. There is a plastic "grommet" thing that holds the cable into the front of the mouse. Gently slide this grommet twards the USB plug untill you have your desired length.
Now trim the wire, tie a knot in the wire. Strip off some of the fabric covering, then strip each of the little wires in there. Connect the plug wires to the cut down half, solder them backtogether and shrink wrap it. Now you can put it back together. Or you could simply roll up the excess cable and tie it Actually, rolling up the cable and tieing it back does damage it. The cloth covering on the tactx mouse with start to split on the sharp bends when you wrap it up.
